Introduction

K601X is a top of the range high pressure performance general purpose seal suitable for rod and piston use. The design of seals incorporate a unique profile X ring NBR80 energiser to ensure complete the lip auction under  all pressure conditions to cushion the seals  against shock loading

The profile is a symmetrical, beveled lip u-cup designed for use in hydraulic cylinder applications. The symmetrical shape allows interchangeability between rod and piston applications. A precision knife trimming process is utilized to create the beveled sealing lips.

 This ensures that the inside and outside diameter sealing edges provide excellent fluid wiping action. The US profile is a single acting seal. Two seals can be installed back to back, in separate grooves, to seal dual acting pistons without pressure trapping fluid between the seals.

 The lip profile of this seal is designed as an interference fit within the housing. The radial squeeze provided by this action gives efficient sealing at low pressures. In operation, the seal becomes pressure responsive to maintain sealing forces — even at very high pressures.

 The sealing lips are accurately machine trimmed to ensure good low pressure sealing while the material

resists extrusion at high pressures.

 In addition, the asymmetric profile of the sealing lips reduces float of the seal in the housing. This improves efficiency and reduces the pumping of fluid under the sealing lip.
